Miyakawa Kazuma (宮川数馬)

Kazuma MIYAKAWA (1841 ? - January 27, 1868) was a member of Shinsengumi. He hailed from the Zeze Domain.

He joined Shinsengumi in October, 1864 and his personal name when he came to Kyoto was Hiroshi. According to the organization established thereafter, he belonged to rokubangumi (team 6) headed by Kanryusai TAKEDA. Although he is said to have been 28 years old at that time, there exists no firm evidence.

He was listed as a rank-and-file member in the name list compiled on June 10, 1867 when Shinsengumi was employed by bakufu (Japanese feudal government headed by a shogun).

He was killed in the Battle of Toba-Fushimi on January 3 of the following year. He is also listed in the name list of Gokonomiya-jinja Shrine.
